TINGob: CM Extension Department with DTI Uplift Lives through Skills Training

The Pandemic has brought challenges to the Filipinos for almost two years now. Each government institutions have been aggressive in alleviating its impacts and help each other to stand back and once again get back on track. 

The College of Management of CapSU Pontevedra and the Department of Trade and Industry have conducted a Skills Training Program. This activity is considered essential in inspiring the Capizeños to find alternative source of income to keep up with these trying times. 





The one week activity was conducted in various locations including Panay, Pilar, Panit-an, and President Roxas. DTI through its Negosyo Centers made it possible to conduct the following trainings:
  • Bangus Deboning and Smoked Bangus
  • Seafood Kropek Processing
  • Silag Processing
The faculty members from the College of Management served as lectures and resource speakers as well as demonstrators to transfer the knowledge and skills to its audience. 

This was spearheaded by the CM Extension Department and with the leadership of Prof. John Keneth Ada.

RQAT/ NQAT of the MPA/DPA Programs

The Master in Public Administration and Doctor of Public Administration Programs of the College of Management went through the scrutiny of the Commission on Higher Education. 

Led by the Dean, Dr. Janita T. Dariagan, Program Chair, Dr Pet Roana Batacandolo, Campus Key Officials and Faculty and Staff, the Evaluation on October 4, 2021 was considered a success. All these efforts will lead to prove that these programs are indeed aligned with the CMO issued by the Commission.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Program





The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration offers two majors which are Human Resource Management and Financial Management. It's a four-year academic journey that shapes the student's academic excellence, dependability and integrity. 


Program Outcomes: (Based on CMO No. 17, Series of 2017)

A. Common to all programs in all types of schools, a graduate has the ability to:

1.      Articulate and discuss the latest developments in the specific field of practice.

2.      Effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English and Filipino

3.      Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams

4.      Act in recognition of professional, social and ethical responsibility

5.      Preserve and promote Filipino historical and cultural heritage


B. Common to the general field of Business and Management, a graduate should be able to:

1.      Perform the basic functions of management such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling

2.      Apply the basic concepts that underlie each of the functional areas of business (marketing, finance, human resources management, production and operations management, information technology, and strategic management) and employ these concepts in various business situations.

3.      Select the proper decision-making tools to critically, analytically, and creatively solve problems and drive results.

4.      Express oneself clearly and communicate effectively with stakeholders both in oral and written forms.

5.      Apply information and communication technology (ICT) skills as required by the business environment.

6.      Work effectively with other stakeholders and manage conflict in the workplace.

7.      Plan and implement business related activities.

8.      Demonstrate corporate citizenship and social responsibility

9.      Exercise high personal moral and ethical standards.

 

C. A graduate of BS Business Administration should be able to:

1.      Analyze the business environment for strategic direction

2.      Prepare operational plans

3.      Innovate business ideas based on emerging industry

4.      Manage a strategic business unit for economic sustainability

5.      Conduct business research

First Virtual Forum Hosted by the College of Management

The College of Management hosted the first virtual professional forum for the Academic and Non-Academic Employees of Capiz State University Pontevedra Campus. With the theme "Setting Directions: Starting the Year Right", CM set the bar for virtual events.
